Genmaicha - Green Tea

Origin: China

Ingredients: Green tea, Roasted + Popped rice

This is a speciality Japanese style green tea blended with fire-toasted rice (also known as popcorn tea) that produces a light, golden yellow liquor with a roasted nutty sweet taste. It was first a drink created by farmers who used the rice as a filler due to the high cost of tea but is now favoured by every class and enjoyed throughout the world. It is lovely on its own, but also as the perfect accompaniment to Japanese food especially when paired with sushi.

Brewing Instructions:
- one teaspoon/cup
- 80 ̊C water temperature
- steep for 2-3 mins
- usually drunk without milk
- may be reinfused
